What is Remember a Charity Week?

Remember a Charity Week runs from 11 to 17 September 2023. It is a campaign run by  “Remember a Charity“. Remember a Charity Week is an opportunity for everyone to take a moment to consider leaving a gift to charity in their will after looking after family and friends.

Pass on Something Wonderful with a Charitable Gift in Your Will

Have you or someone you care about been positively impacted by a charity? Charitable gifts in Wills are crucial for charities to continue their important work. In fact, many charities wouldn’t even exist without these kinds of gifts. Unfortunately, not enough people are aware of this incredible form of giving. There’s a common misconception that leaving money to charity in a Will is only for the extremely wealthy. But the truth is, even a small donation can make a massive impact.

Family and friends a Priority

While taking care of your family and friends should always be a priority, your Will also provides an opportunity to give a thank-you gift to your favourite charity. Countless beloved charities in our country owe their existence to generous individuals like you who have remembered them in their Wills. After providing for your loved ones, leaving even a modest gift can accomplish incredible things. Plus, the process is much simpler than you might think.

Even a small contribution can go a long way

Gifts in Wills play a critical role in funding charitable services all over the country, raising over £3 billion annually for good causes. They help support two out of every three guide dogs, six out of every ten RNLI lifeboat rescue launches, and nearly one-third of Macmillan’s income. They also sustain numerous smaller and community-based charities, along with the museums we all enjoy and the environmental causes that protect the countryside where we love to go for family walks on Sundays.
